BecausethetractionsystemoftheGroundsmaster7210machineuses2
differentcircuits,itisdifculttoidentifywhichcircuitiscausingaproblemand
whathydraulictestsshouldbeperformed.Usethefollowingoperationtestsand
suggestionsbeforeyouperformthehydraulictestsdescribedinthissection.
1.Ifthemachinedoesnottrackinastraightline,lookforaproblemwiththe
componentsthataffecttheweakertractionsideofthemachine.During
operation,themachinewillsteertowardtheweakersideofthetraction
system.Becausetheswashplateofthepistonpumpiscontrolledbythe
tractioncontrollevermovement,if1leverrotatesitsswashplatemorethan
theotherlever,themachinewillnottrackinastraightline.
2.Drivethemachineupamoderateincline,shutofftheengine,place
thetraction-controlleversintheNEUTRALLOCKpositionandallowthe
transmissiontoholdthemachineinplace(theparkingbrakeisnotapplied).
Themachineshouldremainstationaryontheinclineordriftslowlybackwards
inastraightline.If1ofthetractioncircuitsofthetransmissionisdamaged,
themachinewillrollbackwardstowardtheweakertractioncircuit.
3.Thewheelspeedshouldbethesameonthe2rearwheels.Ensurethatthe
hydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperature.Withthemachineraised
offthegroundandcorrectlysupportedwithjackstands,haveanoperator
intheseatmovethetraction-controlleverstothefullforwardspeed.Usea
phototactochecktherotationalspeedofthe2rearwheels.Thewheelspeed
shouldbe190to200rpmforbothrearwheels.
4.Ifanyoftheseoperationtestssuggestatractionsystemproblem,checkthe
followingbeforeyouperformthehydraulictests.
A.Theparkingbrakeisdragging.
B.Thetraction-controlleverisnotadjustedcorrectly.
C.Thetransmissionbypassvalveisnotseated.
D.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictanktoensurethatthe
uidleveliscorrect.
