Note:Wheninitiallystartingthehydraulicsystemwithneworrebuiltcomponents
suchaswheelmotors,gearpump,orliftcylinder,itisimportantthatthehydraulic
systemischargedproperly.Removetheairfromthesystemanditscomponents
toreducethechanceofdamage.
IMPORTANT
Changethehydraulic-uidlterwhenyourepairorreplacethe
hydrauliccomponents.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshutofftheengine.
2.Ensurethatallofthehydraulicconnections,lines,andcomponentsare
securedtightly.
Note:Flushandllthehydraulicsystemandreservoirwheneverthereisa
severecomponentfailureorthesystemiscontaminated;refertoFlushing
theHydraulicSystem(page4–59).
3.Ensurethatthehydraulicreservoirisfull.Addcorrectquantityofhydraulic
uidifnecessary;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
4.Checkthetractioncontrolcomponentsforproperadjustment,binding,or
damagedparts.
5.Primethehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page
4–58).
IMPORTANT
Beforeliftingthemachinewithajack,reviewandfollowJacking
Instructions(page1–6).
6.Raisethe2drivewheelsoffthegroundandplacethejackstandsunder
theframetosupportthemachine.
CAUTION
Ensurethatthemachineissafelysupportedsothatitdoesnotmove
oraccidentallyfallandpreventinjuringanyoneunderthemachine.
7.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed(1,400rpm).
Note:Thechargeandgearpumpsmustpickupthehydraulicuidandll
thehydraulicsystem.Ifthereisnoindicationofllin30seconds,shutoffthe
engineandndthecause.
8.Afterthehydraulicsystemstartstoshowthesignsofll,actuatealiftswitch
untiltheliftcylinderrodmovesinandoutseveraltimes.
9.Iftheliftcylinderdoesnotmoveafter3to5secondsorifthepumpemits
abnormalsounds,shutofftheengineimmediately,andndthecauseor
problem.Inspectforthefollowing:
A.Theoillterorsuctionlinesthatareloose.
B.Anincorrecthoserouting.
C.Thesuctionlinethatisblocked.
D.Theimplementreliefvalvethatisdamaged.
