offtheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.

3.Drainthehydraulicuidfromthehydraulictankandtransmission.
4.Drainthecompletehydraulicsystem.Drainallthehoses,tubes,and
componentswhilethesystemiswarm.
5.Removeandreplacethehydraulic-uidlter.
6.Inspectandcleanthehydraulic-uidtank;refertoInspectingtheHydraulic
Tank(page4–64).
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
thehydraulicuidandlters.
7.Connectallthehydraulichoses,tubes,andcomponentsthatwere
disconnectedwhiledrainingthesystem;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHose
andTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page4–5).
IMPORTANT
Usingotherhydraulicuidscoulddamagethehydraulicsystem.
UsethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheTractionUnit
Operator’sManual.
8.Fillthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid.
9.Primethehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page
4–58).
10.Starttheengineandoperateitatlow-idlespeed(1,400rpm)foraminimum
of2minutes.Increasetheenginespeedtohighidle(3,000rpm)fora
minimumof1minuteundernoload.
11.Raiseandlowerthecuttingdeck(orimplement)severaltimes.
12.Shutofftheengineandcheckforhydraulic-uidleaks.
Note:Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrect
quantityofuidifnecessary;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
13.Operatethemachinefor2hoursundernormaloperatingconditions.
14.Checktheconditionofhydraulicuid.Ifnewuidshowsanysignsof
contamination,repeatsteps1through13againuntiltheuidisclean.
15.Assumethenormaloperationandfollowtherecommendedmaintenance
intervals.
