TheYanmarenginethatpowerstheGroundsmaster7210machineusesan
electroniccontrolunit(ECU)forenginemanagementandtocommunicatewith
theInfoCenterdisplayonthemachine.IfyoumustdisconnecttheengineECU
foranyreason,ensurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionwiththekey
removedforaminimumof30secondsbeforedisconnectingtheengineECU.

CAN-busCommunications
TheECUandInfoCenterdisplayusedontheGroundsmaster7210machine
communicatewitheachotheronaCANbussystem.Thissystemallowsthe
tractionunittofullyintegrateallthedifferentelectricalcomponentsofthetractor
andbringthemtogetherasone.TheCANbussystemreducesthenumber
ofelectricalcomponentsandconnectionsthatareusedonthemachineand
allowsthenumberofwiresinthewireharnesstobesignicantlyreduced.The
integrationoftheelectricalfunctionsalsoallowstheInfoCenterdisplaytoassist
withtheelectricalsystemdiagnostics.
TheCANidentiesthecontrollerareanetworkthatisusedbetweenthe
controllersonthemachine.The2speciallydesigned,twistedcablesformthe
bus.Thesewiresprovidethedatapathwaysbetweenthecontroller(ECU)and
InfoCenterdisplayusedonthemachine.Theengineeringtermforthesecables
aretheCANHighandCANLow.Attheendsofthetwistedpairofbuscables
arethe120-ohmterminatorresistors.
