Fiber-optic link signal loss budget
Every fiber-optic link has some signal loss (measured in decibels). Many
factors affect decibel loss, including:
• Length of fiber-optic cable
• Transmitter optical output power
• Operating wavelength
• Fiber attenuation
• Fiber bandwidth
• Receiver optical sensitivity
