Configurable Cutting Table (Pin Table)
The Configurable Cutting Table is designed to eliminate
certain scorch marks and other defects which may occur when
cutting acrylic, wood or other sensitive materials using
conventional laser cutting tables. By using specially coated
aluminum pins to elevate the material being processed, the
Configurable Cutting Table greatly reduces the amount of
laser energy reflected back into the material from the table
surface.
The Configurable Cutting Table consists of a modular 12" x 12"
base with an energy absorbent coating, sixteen supporting
pins to elevate the material, and four fixture pins for material
positioning. The base contains magnets that allow for quick
and accurate alignment with additional Configurable Cutting
Tables. Pins slide snugly into the pin slots in the base
(arranged in a grid with 1" intervals) and can then be locked in
place with screws from bellow for high-volume jobs.
Installation
1. Place base against rulers on material processing table. Place additional pin table bases against first
base, magnets will secure them to each other when oriented correctly.
2. Place rounded pins as needed to support material to be cut.
3. Place taller squared pins to form stops to locate material if desired. Pin table photo illustrates an
example setup with support and stop pins.
4. Place material to be processed on pins.
5. Focus on top of material surface.
