6. Insert the sensor deep enough into the soil so that the soil/air boundary is at the
ground level line. The ground level line is marked on the sensor.
Make sure that there are no sharp stones or other objects in the ground
that could press the sensor. Pressing objects can damage the
fiberglass tube. See
the following figure.
CAUTION!
Never use a hammer or other instrument to hit the sensor. Too much
force may cause damage to the electronics inside the sensor. Sensor warranty is
void if a hammer or unapproved tool is used to drive the probe into the soil.
CAUTION!
Do not bend or flex the sensor during insertion.CAUTION!
