For notes on fitting new tyres – see
page 160.
See page 249 for restric tions.
W inte r tyre s (M+ S tyre s) im prove safe ty at
tem peratures be low 7 °C and should
therefore be fitted on all the wheels.
The d esign of summ er tyres mea ns they
have limited qualities for winter driving.
If the maximum permissible speed for the
winter tyres is less than that of the vehicle,
a notice indicating the maximum
permissible speed for the tyres must be
affixed within the driver’s field of v ision

.
Use of a spare wheel fitted with a sum mer
tyre may affect the vehicle’s driveability,
especially on slippery road surfaces.
Obtain a replacement for the faulty tyre as
soon as possible, and have the wheel
balanced and fitted to the v ehicle.
Wheel trims 3
If the wheel trims and tyre s us ed are not
Vauxhall-approved, make sure that the
tyres d o not have a bea ded edge. See
page 161.
Tyre chains 3
See page 249 for restrictions.
Tyre chains are only p ermitted on the front
wheels. They must be fitted to the tyres
symmetrically in order to a chieve a
concentric fit.
Alw ays use fine mesh chains that add no
more than 15 m m to the tyre tread and the
inboard sides (including chain lock).
We recommend that you consult your
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
Wheel trim on steel wheels could come into
contact with parts of the chain and be
damaged. Remove the wheel trim – see
pag e 185.
Tyre cha ins may only be used at sp eeds up
to 30 mph (50 km/h) and, when trav elling
on roads that are free of snow , they m ay be
used for brief periods only since they are
subject to rapid wea r on a hard road and
ma y sna p.

Tyre chains must not be used on the
temporary spare wheel. If you need to use
tyre chains after suffering a flat front tyre,
fit the temporary spare on the rear axle
and transfer one of the rea r wheels to the
front axle.
Wheel changing – see pag e 185.
Correct tyre pressure – see pa ge 249.
