Advice when parking:
z Alwa ys apply ha nd brake firm ly. On
slopes apply the hand b rake as firmly as
possible.
z With manual transmission, eng age first
gear or reverse gea r. With Easytronic 3,
place selector lever in centre position
before switching off ignition. With
automa tic transm ission 3, place selector
le ve r in P.
z Close window, sun roof 3 and fold ing sun
roof 3 .
z On vehicles with Easytronic 3 th e c on t r o l
in d i c a to r R flashes for a few seconds
after the ignition is switched off if the
hand brake has not been applied.
z In vehicles with automatic
transmission 3 the key can only be
rem oved when the selector lever is in
position P.
z Turn steering wheel until lock is felt to
engage (anti-theft protection).
z Engine cooling fan may run on after the
engine has been switched off.
z Do not park vehicle on easily ignitable
surfaces as the hot exhaust system
temperatures could cause the surface to
ignite.
