Weights, payload and roof load
The p ayload is the diffe re nce betwe en the
permitted gross vehicle weight (see
identification plate, page 232) and the EC
kerb weight.
To calculate the kerb weight, enter the

Optional equipment and accessories
increase the kerb weight, which m eans that
the p ayload will also change slig htly.

The combined total of front a nd rear axle
loa ds must n ot e xce ed the perm iss ible
gross ve hicle we ight. F or exa mple, if the
front axle is bearing its m aximum
permissible load, the rear axle can only
bear a load that is eq ua l to the gross
vehicle weig ht m inus the front axle load.

When the carav an/trailer is coupled and
the towing vehic le fully loaded (including
all occupants), the perm issible rear axle
loa d (see identification plate or v eh icle
docum ents) may be exceeded by 45 kg
and the permissible gross vehicle weight by
15 kg. If the permissib le rear axle load is
exceeded, a maximum speed of
(60 mph)100 km/h applies. If national
regulations specify a lower maxim um
speed for vehicles towing a cara van/trailer,
this must be observed .

General inform ation
The permissib le roof load is 100 kg . The
roof load consists of the weight of the roof
rack plus the load carried.
