9.2.8 SIC Card (Available in Specific Regions only)
The SIC card is a network management card. It brings the network communication capability for the Liebert UPS. It can also
support IRM series sensor to monitor environment. When the intelligent equipment generates an alarm, the SIC card can
notify the user by recording the log, sending trap information, and sending a mail. SIC card also supports Modbus RTU
protocol.
Preparation
1. Prepare the installation tools, including a cross head screwdriver.
2. Check that all installation materials are present and complete, including one SIC card.
Pro cedures
N O T E: T here is no need to shut dow n the U PS during SIC card installation, because the SIC card is
hot pluggable.
W A RN IN G! Som e electronic com p onents in SIC card are sensitive to static electricity,
therefore, do not touch the electronic com ponents or circuit in S IC card by hand or other
conductive m aterials, so as to p rotect the S IC card again st static electricity. W h en rem oving
or installing the SIC card, hold the card side edge to operate it.
The SIC card should be installed in the Intellislot port (see Figure 4.4 on page46) in the UPS. See Table 4.9 on page54 for
installation positions of optional cards.
Method for installation:
1. Remove the cover of Intellislot port. Note to reserve the removed screws and take care of the cover for future
use.
2. Insert the SIC card (along two sides of the Intellislot port) into the port position recommended in Table 4.9 on
page54, and then fasten the screws.
