4.7 Chart Light Switch
Tools required: Phillips head screwdriver Screwdriver
Adjustable wrench
Removal
SHOCK HAZARD:
Locate the involved building circuit breaker panel. Set the involved
circuit breaker to OFF. Lock out and tag out the breaker. Failure to
follow this procedure could result in personal injury or equipment
damage.
1. Set the involved circuit breaker to OFF.
2. Lock out and tag the circuit breaker.
3. Using the phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws (D) and the chart
light faceplate (E) from the raceway (F) (see figure 4-6 on page 4-13).
4. Using the screwdriver, remove the backbox attaching screws (G) from the
backbox (H), and pull the backbox (H) away from the raceway (F).
5. Using the adjustable wrench, remove the hex nut (I) from the base of the
switch (C).
6. Pull the switch (C) away from the backbox (H).
7. Remove the wires from the switch terminals.
Replacement
1. Install the wires on the switch (C).
2. Tighten the terminal screws.
3. Insert the switch (C) into the backbox (H), and install the attaching nut (I).
4. Install the backbox (H) with screws (G) to the raceway (F).
5. Install the screws (D) and faceplate (E) on the raceway (F).
6. Remove the lock out and out-of-service tags.
7. Set the circuit breaker to the ON position.
