6.0 Paddles Test (If applicable)
Tools Needed: QED 6 Defibrillator Analyzer.
Test Setup: If a
pplicable, connect the universal cable to the paddles and place the paddles in paddle wells.

Note: The front panel shock button does not illuminate.

Turn the selector switch to DEFIB. Press and
hold the ENERGY DOWN button on the
sternum paddle.
The energy selection decreases to 1J.
Press and release the ENERGY UP bu
tton on
the sternum paddle for each setting.
The joules selection increases as follows: 1-10, 15, 20, 30, 50, 70, 85, 100,
120, 150, 200J.
Press and release the RECORDER button on
the
sternum paddle.
The recorder starts printing.
Press and release the RECORDER button
a
gain.
The recorder stops printing.
Select 30J using the paddle ENERGY bu
tton.
Press the CHARGE button on the Apex paddle.
The unit charges to 30J, then the red LED charge indicator illuminates and the
charge tone sounds.
Press and release the APEX SHOCK bu
tton. The unit does not discharge.
Press and release the STERNUM SHOCK
bu
tton.
The unit does not discharge.
Press and hold both paddles SHOCK bu
ttons. The unit discharges. The TEST OK message displays and the red LED turns
off. If configured, the recorder prints a strip chart.
