The link beat LED confirms that there is an active
connection between the 3C509-TP or 3C579-TP adapter
and the hub.
NOTE: When you first install the adapter and power up
the computer, the LED lights, but the link beat is
inactive. For the link beat to be active (enabled), you
need to have run the Group 3 test or have loaded the
network drivers.
