Repair, Warranty, and Calibration Information
The RX-i series are precision electronic instrument that consist of optical parts (prism and objective lens)
and electronic parts. When the interaction between light and electricity causes malfunction of the
instrument, the source of the problem may be difficult to identify. Repair and adjustment of the instrument
require expertise in electronics and optics. Only authorized service providers who have completed the
maintenance training can disassemble and repair the instrument beyond the simple inspection and
replacement of parts which are outlined in this manual.
The RX-i series come standard with a two year limited warranty against manufacturer's defects from the
date of the original purchase.
The warranty period can be extended to three years if the product is registered with ATAGO.
Warranty service for eligible repairs is provided at no charge. There will be fees associated with any
services provided after the warranty period expires.
Contact ATAGO, an authorized ATAGO distributor, or the original seller.
Below are exclusions to the warranty:
Damage as a result of accident, misuse, abuse, or improper site
preparation/maintenance
Damage as a result of disassembly by anyone other than authorized service providers
Replacement parts
Replacement parts are often available for 7 years after a model is discontinued.
Contact ATAGO, an authorized ATAGO distributor, or the original seller.
* Replacement parts may become unavailable from the suppliers even within the 7-year period.
Recommendation of periodic inspection and maintenance (Charged)
To ensure long-term, precise and stable operation of the RX-i series, ATAGO recommend for the unit to
be inspected periodically (at least once every two years). Periodic inspection services can be arranged
through an Authorized ATAGO Distributor or directly from an Authorized Service Center. Periodic
inspection services includes:
Inspection, confirmation, and replacement of performance parts
Inspection and adjustment of span
Replacement of desiccant
Calibration
In accordance with the ISO quality management systems, ATAGO provides calibration services for ATAGO
refractometers that comply with HACCP and GMP standards. Calibration fees will vary, depending on the
model.
The following documents will accompany an instrument after calibration:
Calibration certificate, traceability certificate, and traceability diagram.
