7.1 Software update
About Software updates
There are two ways to u pdate the Base Unit software:
• via the Web Interface, for more information, see "Base Unit software update", page 82
• by copying the software on a US B stick
To update the Base Unit software by copying the software on a USB stick
1. Download the latest version of the software from Barco’s website, , www.barco. com/clickshar e. Click on Visit the ClickShare
product page and go to tab Downloads
2. Unzip the file and copy the ipk file to a USB stick.
3. Rename the file to clickshare_firmware.ipk.
Renaming is necessary as the software will look for that s pecific filename on the dev ice.
4. Insert the US B stick into the USB port at the front of the Base Unit.
5. Follow the instructions on the m eeting room s creen .
6. When the on-screen messa ge indicates that the process is finished, remove the USB stick.
The Base Unit shuts down.
When updating the Base Unit software to version 01.06 or hi gher, the Button software will update automati-
cally o ver W iFi and does n ot need manual pairing again. Th e Button so ftware update runs in the background
and w ill not impact users wh ile using the system. If desired, this feature can b
e d isabled in the Web In terface.
When downgrading or updating to an older version of the Base Unit software the Buttons need to paired man-
ually to update their software.
Once upgraded to software version 01.07 or higher it is not possible to d owng rade ag ain b elow version 1.07.
Important notice for updating to software version 01.05 and above
Please note that firm ware versions 01.04 and above are digitally signed to raise security level. To c hange from an unsigned firmwa re
version to signed firmware, an intermediate step is required. This step is included in firmware v ersion 01.04. As a result, updating
firmw a re version 01.03 to firm ware version 01.05 requires first an update from version 01.03 to 01.04, followed by an update from
01.04 to 01.05. W hen updating firmware version 01.04 to higher versions, no special action is required. Downgrading a firmware
version to an older version do es not require an intermediate step.
Flows to follow when up or downg rading between signed and unsigned versions:
