AOM
Position the AOM as indicated on the drawing.
The AOM efficiency for the whole frequency range must have the same
shape for the 6 channels and must be as smooth as possible. For each
frequency setting between 2000 and 4000, the difference for the 6
amplitudes must be less then 1000.
You get the smoothest curves when the correct order for the
deflected beams is chosen. The symbol on the AOM indicates in wich
direction (left or right) the beams must be deflected. In our optics,
the deflected beams must be on the right side of the main beams (mount
AOM so that AOM label is unreadable) .
Align AOM so that the intensity for frequency 3950 is a maximum for the 6
channels. Set even beams on frequency 2100 and odd beams on 3900.
The intensities for the even beams are about 2 times larger then the odd
beams.
1. Switch on all the beams and set them at maximum amplitude
2. Set all even beams on 3900 :
LTL > 12 do dup 2 * 2 - 3900 sfreq loop
Set all odd beams on 2100 :
LTL > 12 do dup 2 * 1 - 2100 sfreq loop
Set all beams on maximum amplitude:
LTL > 24 do dup 1 4095 samp loop
