INTRODUCTION
The following document details the firmware update procedure via both the USB and Barfield
App.
Section 1 below describes the process of updating the firmware through Barfield’s website using
a storage media device. Section 2 explains the same firmware update process as it pertains to
Barfield’s tablet Application.
REQUIREMENTS
A working DPS1000 or 1811NG
A PC with Internet access
A storage media device, either a USB flash drive or a Memory Stick. On that storage
media, you will need at least 2GB of free space
An android tablet or an iPad
Barfield ADTS app.
SECTION 1 – UPDATING THE FIRMWARE VIA USB PORT
1. Getting the Firmware from Barfield’s Website
The following software are available for download:
HUIM (User Interface, supports both DPS1000 & 1811NG): dpsx file format
PCM (Pneumatic controller, supports both DPS1000 & 1811NG): controller.hex file
format.
Note:
Please, check Barfield website (http://www.barfieldinc.com/services-and-offers/ground-
support-test-equipment) regularly for most up to date firmware.
To download the firmware:
a) From your computer, access Barfield’s website (link above) under Ground Support Test
Equipment.
b) Download the HUIM or PCM software to your computer.
c) Unzip the folder and copy the downloaded files to the root of your USB flash drive.
d) If there are any difficulties downloading the software through Barfield website, please
contact Barfield’s Sales team and to obtain a USB containing the updated software.
