CHAPTER 6: MAINTENANCE
1. GENERAL
A. The manufacturer of this equipment does not recommend the user to attempt any
maintenance or repair. In case of malfunction, contact the manufacturer to obtain
the list of approved repair facilities worldwide. This will ensure that this equipment
is serviced using proper procedures and certified instrument.
2. PREVENTATIVE
A. The user should visually inspect the unit prior to each use to look for signs of
apparent damage.
B. Inspect the ports, hoses and aircraft adapters for the presence of moisture or any
type of foreign matter.
C. With the DPS1000 disconnected from the hose and adapter assemblies, power the
unit on and observe the initialization routine to make sure there are no apparent
issues reported.
3. TROUBLESHOOTING
A. If the unit displays an error code during use, please record the error code and
contact Barfield or its representative for further instructions before proceeding.
B. If the unit seems to be malfunctioning but displays no error code, then return the
unit safely to ground level. Cycle the power to see if the problem clears, making
notes of any issues discovered during the Power On Self-Test routines.
4. CALIBRATION
A. The DPS1000 calibration interval is once per annum (12 months).
B. Please see the list of approved repair facilities under Maintenance and Repair
Information on Page v of this document.
CAUTION: Recertification by a calibration/repair shop not possessing the necessary
technical knowledge, documentation, special test equipment, tooling and
standards will adversely affect the accuracy/capability of the DPS1000.
