The Passive Backplane filters and distributes the +5, +12 and
-12 VDC to all boards in the Card Cage. These boards in turn
distribute power to the Power Boards:
o Blood Pump Power Board
o UF-Proportioning Power Board
o I/O Electronics Power Board
o I/O Hydraulics Power Board
The I/O Controller board monitors the +5 VDC power supply
so that if it suddenly changes to a level that incapacitates the
digital logic circuits, then the watchdog circuit on this board
times out and forces a system shutdown.
