8.3 Checks before starting work
DANGER
Risk of accident due to tearing the caterpillar track!
A risk of accident is posed if the caterpillar track tears as a result of wear
and the machine drives on uncontrollably in any direction.
n Prior to operation, always check the caterpillar track for tears or
broken-out sections in the elastic, and for wear in the steel inserts.
n Never take the machine into operation with a defective caterpillar
track.
n If the caterpillar track is defective, shut the machine down and notify
customer service.
Check the machine to make sure that nothing is missing, there is no
damage and it is in a safe operational status.
Check the surroundings of the machine to ensure that unobstructed
operation is possible.
Check that the operating signs are complete and legible.
Check that all control levers can be moved easily and return to the neu‐
tral position automatically.
Check the engine oil level (→ 9.3.3).
