□ Unscrew screw from old source and close transport
shielding.
□ Open transport shielding of new source.
□ Turn screw into new source.
□ Take hold of rod source using a pair of pliers and insert it
into the shielding until it touches the other end.
□ Turn screw out of new source.
□ Screw down cover cap using a large screwdriver.
□ Attach cover plate.
□ Insert emergency rod again.
□ Lock with padlock.
□ Check proper OPEN/CLOSED function of locking mecha-
nism of radiation exit channel (other side of shielding).
□ Replace identity plate on shielding or attach new source
number.
□ Observe the special regulations regarding labeling and
transport of the shielding containing the old source back
to the manufacturer.
