Operation Instructions
2.1.9.6 Stimulation with a TouchPoint Control
If stimulation is programmed in both the TouchPoint and
SmartControls, the pulsation rate and ratio can be changed
automatically to improve milk ow when there is not good let-
down. After a cow is attached, at least 500 grams of milk have
been measured, the ow rate is less than the Stimulation ow
rate, and the Stimulation pulsation rate is greater than the nor-
mal pulsation rate, the Stimulation pre-delay period will start.
There is a ten second ramp up and a ten second ramp down
period to the pulsation.
During the pre-delay period, the function keys will be activated
to enable stimulation to be started or stopped manually, as
shown in the example below.

The milker at this point has several choices:
1. Simply milk the cow. Stimulation will start after the pro-
grammed pre-delay and stop either when the timer ends or
when the milk ow exceeds the programmed level.
2. Start the stimulation early [Stim On] (F1). Stimulation will
start immediately and stop either when the timer ends or
when the milk ow exceeds the programmed level.
3. Stop the stimulation manually [Stim Off] (F3). If the stimu-
lation has not started, it won't. If it has already started, it
will ramp down to normal pulsation.
4. Review other function key choices (key F4).
If the milker chooses F1, or if the pre-delay ends, the Stim On
selection (F1) will disappear, as shown in Figure 18b.
