6.1.2 Flask Calibration for Non BouMatic Flask
For results of the metering accuracy test to be correct, an
accurately calibrated four-liter glass ask (such as the Erlen-
meyer ask, available from BouMatic) must be used. If a ask
of any other type will be used, recalibrate it according to the
procedure below (as it may not be calibrated accurately for the
test):
1. Fill a one-liter Class ‘’A’’ (TD) volumetric ask four times
with 70°F ± 10°F (21°C ±5°C) water and empty the water
into the four-liter ask.
2. Indelibly mark the four-liter ask at the water line.
6.1.3 Test Procedure
To test the meter for accuracy:
1. Turn off the vacuum supply.
2. Rinse the meter with water and remove all debris from its
inside surfaces. Check the perimeter of the bafe to ensure
that it is clean.
3. Ensure that the meter is level and that the oat moves
freely on the plunger.
4. Attach a two-foot-long hose to each end of the test orice.
Then attach one hose to the meter inlet and allow the other
hose to hang temporarily. See Figure 31.
—NOTICE————————
1. Part available from BouMatic.
(See the BouMatic Equipment
Catalog for ordering details.)
2. Abbreviation ‘a/r means as re-
quired.
3. The ask used in this test must
be glass because a plastic ask
may not be accurate. If a 4-liter
(4000 ml) ask other than the
Erlenmeyer (specied above) will
be used, also required is a 1-liter
Class ‘’A’’ (TD) volumetric ask
to perform the ask calibration.
Calibration is not required for the
Erlenmeyer ask.
