5. Troubleshooting
Tables 6, 7 and 8 provide helpful suggestions for troubleshoot-
ing some problems that the dairy operator might have with
this product or other system parts. Troubleshooting should be
done only by an authorized BouMatic dealer or technician.
Use Table 7 to troubleshoot PRISM communication wiring us-
ing a digital meter. The digital meter will be used to check the
termination resistors and wire.

Detacher does
not power up
Detacher not getting 24 VDC power. 1. Use a regulated 24 VDC power
supply (not a System 2000 Power
Supply).
2. Check that 24 VDC power is at J1,
pins 1 and 2.
3. Check that all power switches are
on.
Not all controls
communicate
1. Minus lead of the 24 VDC not con-
nected to earth ground.
2. Communication wires are reversed.
3. Termination resistors are not
installed.
4. Connect the minus lead to earth
ground.
5. Correct the wiring, the white wire
is connected to the A terminal and
the blue wire is connected to the B
terminal.
6. Install the termination resistors at
each of the communication cables.
Detacher does
not communicate
Communication wiring is not correct. Verify that the communication cables
are wired correctly.
Features of the
detacher control
do not respond
as expected.
Detacher control parameters have not
been set to the desired values.
Use the conguration software to ad-
just the detacher parameters to the
desired values.
