SmartControl™ Meter & TouchPoint™ 63 9E-926
Operation Instructions
—NOTICE———————
Certain materials contain ingredients
that will attack the milk meter’s and
valve’s plastic parts.
6.2 As Needed
As needed, clean non-milk-contact (outside) surfaces of con-
trols, hoses, and plastic housings using a sponge and mild
detergent, followed by a clear water rinse.
Take full advantage of new features of the TouchPoint & Smart-
Control Milking System by updating the software on a regular
basis.
6.3 Avoid Exposure of Plastic Parts
Do not expose the plastic parts to the following:
• Iodine teat dips
• Fly sprays, oil-based
• “Super” glues
• Gasoline, turpentine, brake uids, and ethers
• Refrigerants
• Loctite and similar adhesive compounds
• Phenols
• Alcohol, ethanol, and isopropanol
If parts become accidentally exposed, thoroughly wash them
immediately and at the end of milking.
Use of cleaners other than those recommended by BouMatic
and excessive concentrations of those recommended is not
advised.
Use of non-recommended chemicals will be done at the own-
er’s risk, and damages to the plastic parts resulting from im-
proper cleaning will nullify any warranty covering those parts.
6.4 Yearly Maintenance
• Change the meter’s two milk-contact gaskets.
• Change the meter’s O-ring seal on the end of the plunger.
• Change the meter diaphragm.
6.5 As Necessary Maintenance
The meter diaphragm is designed for long life and can be
changed in a few seconds, if needed. If cracks, splits or holes
are visible, replace the diaphragm to prevent milk or water
from reaching the solenoid and causing a failure.
