How to troubleshoot a Boumatic TouchPoint detacher that does not power up?
    • M
      mariahclarkAug 12, 2025
If the Boumatic Measuring Instruments detacher isn't powering up, ensure it's receiving 24 VDC from a regulated power supply (not a System 2000 Power Supply). Check for 24 VDC power at J1, pins 1 and 2, and confirm that all power switches are turned on.

What to do if not all Boumatic TouchPoint controls communicate?
    • B
      Bianca Williams DDSAug 16, 2025
If not all Boumatic Measuring Instruments controls are communicating, make sure the minus lead of the 24 VDC is connected to earth ground. Also, verify that the communication wires are correctly connected, with the white wire connected to the A terminal and the blue wire to the B terminal. Finally, ensure termination resistors are installed at each of the communication cables.

What to do if features of the Boumatic Measuring Instruments detacher control do not respond as expected?
    • L
      Lauren JensenAug 19, 2025
If the features of the Boumatic Measuring Instruments detacher control aren't responding as expected, the detacher control parameters may not be set to the desired values. Use the configuration software to adjust the detacher parameters to the desired values.

What does it mean if resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is zero ohms in Boumatic Measuring Instruments?
    • L
      Linda GarrettAug 25, 2025
If the resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is zero ohms, there is likely a short between the white and blue wires. This could be due to a connector in the wrong position, a loose strand shorting the wires, or a pinched cable.

What to do if resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is less than 50 ohms but not zero in Boumatic TouchPoint?
    • M
      Michael DavisAug 27, 2025
If the resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is less than 50 ohms but not zero, there may be too many termination resistors installed. Remove the excess termination resistors.

Why resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is 110 to 130 ohms in Boumatic Measuring Instruments?
    • S
      Sarah RussellAug 31, 2025
If the resistance measurement from the white wire to the blue wire is 110 to 130 ohms, a termination resistor might be missing from either end of the communication cable. There may be an open wire, loose connection, a wire has not been installed in the connector and both termination resistors have been installed. Repeat the resistance at both ends of the communication cable.

What to do if voltage measurement across the white and blue wires is 0.5 volts or higher in Boumatic Measuring Instruments?
    • F
      Francisco IngramSep 4, 2025
If the voltage measurement across the white and blue wires is 0.5 volts or higher, a control may be trying to communicate. Rest all controls by turning the power off for 30 seconds.

What to do if DC voltage measurement from the metal of the parlor to the +24 VDC output of the power supplies is less than 20 volts in Boumatic Measuring Instruments?
    • C
      Charles HammondSep 7, 2025
Verify that the minus connector of the power supply is connected to earth ground.
