6. Remove the valve cap from
the tire valve stem.
Make sure the valve stem is
positioned close to the ground
so the hose will reach the tire.
7. Firmly attach the air inflator
hose to the tire valve stem.
- Compressor kits equipped
with a selector switch:
To tighten, turn the end of
the hose clockwise.
- Compressor kits not
equipped with a selector
switch:
Push down on the lever to
secure the hose to the valve
stem.
8. Disconnect any accessories
plugged into the accessory
power outlets.
9. Plug the air compressor into
the one of the accessory
power outlets.
- Note:
Only use the cigarette lighter
outlet to plug in the air
compressor if the vehicle
is not equipped with an
accessory power outlet.
Do not close the doors or
windows on the power cord.
10. Start the engine.
The engine must be running
to avoid draining the
battery while running the air
compressor using battery
power.
CAUTION
Idling the engine inside an
enclosed area such as a garage,
and/or with the climate control
system's fan off, may produce
dangerous exhaust fumes.
11. Turn the selector switch (if
equipped) clockwise to the air
only position.
12. Press I (on) or the on/off
button to turn the system on.
