FAULT FINDING
PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION
The starter motor does not run
(the magnetic switch makes no
operating noise)
Poor battery specific gravity and
level
Poor ignition switch circuit
connection or contact
Malfunction of the coil or of the
magnetic switch pull-in piston.
Inspect the battery.
Replace the wiring harness and the
ignition switch.
Replace the magnetic switch.
The starter motor does not run
(the magnetic switch makes an

Poor magnetic switch contact
Motor assembly malfunction (e.g.
