This example shows that when a child-level policy map is attached below a class, an action must be
specified for the class:
Switch(config)# policy-map vlan-plcmap
Switch(config-pmap)# class cm-5
Switch(config-pmap-c)# set dscp 7
Switch(config-pmap-c)# service-policy port-plcmap-1
This example shows how to configure default traffic class to a policy map:
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# class-map cm-3
Switch(config-cmap)# match ip dscp 30
Switch(config-cmap)# match protocol ipv6
Switch(config-cmap)# exit
Switch(config)# class-map cm-4
Switch(config-cmap)# match ip dscp 40

Classifying, Policing, and Marking Traffic by Using Aggregate Policers
Note To use policing and marking, the switch must be running the LAN Base image.
By using an aggregate policer, you can create a policer that is shared by multiple traffic classes within
the same policy map. However, you cannot use the aggregate policer across different policy maps or
ports.
