000 299 119 5 - BA ROLLANT 240 - 250 - 254 - 255 9.2.3
Operation
Rotor reverse rotation device, hydraulic (from
tractor) (optional fitting for ROLLANT 250/254/255 with
rotor and standard operation)
The rotor can be hydraulically reversed by about
90 degree to clear a blockage.
Attention!
Disengage the PTO. Always wear gloves
when removing blockages – Risk of injury!
Attention!
In tractors fitted with a PTO shaft brake, set
the PTO shaft to a "neutral" position so that
the PTO shaft is not braked.
Procedure:
1. Disengage the PTO.
2. With ROLLANT 250/254/255 RC, disengage the
knives. This is done by lowering the pick-up
completely. Put the tractor’s control valve in the
floating position (see Tractor Operator’s Manual).
3. Open the shut-off valve on the hydraulic oil hose
for rotor reverse.
4. Reverse rotate the rotor on the hydraulic control
valve from the tractor (maximum 3 hydraulic
cylinder strokes).
5. Back up the baler, remove the crop or foreign
object as necessary.
6. Retract the hydraulic cylinder completely.
7. Close the shut-off valve on the hydraulic oil hose
for rotor reverse.
8. Engage the PTO and start baling.
9. With ROLLANT 250/254/255 RC, reengage the
cutting knives. Lift the pick-up to do this.
