D. VERIFY THE HANDING OF THE UNIT
The “handing” of the Handilift is determined by standing at the bottom landing facing the lift. See
Figure # 1. The tower will be positioned either on the “right” or the “left”. If the tower is on the “left”
then the unit is a “left hand unit” and, likewise, if the tower is on the “right” the unit is a “right hand
unit”. Verify “handing” of the Handilift with the site before moving the unit.
2) Review “Preparatory Work by Others”, v
a) Permanent 115 Volt AC minimum 15 Amp power installed to local codes and
regulations by a qualified electrical contractor. If the optional 750 lbs. (340 Kg)
capacity is specified, confirm that a 20 amp circuit breaker has been installed wit
minimum of 10 gauge wire feed. Tempor
installation of the lift. However, if an extension cord is used to provide temporary
power, ensure that the extension cord does not exceed 25 feet (8 metres) in length
and is made up of a minimum of 14 gauge wire. Failure to do this may result in
improper operation or complete failure of operation of the lift.
