Preconfiguration tasks
Once you have installed the DM5500 in the rack, cabled the DM5500 to the switch(es), and verified the VLAN configuration,
you must perform the following preconfiguration tasks before logging in to the Data Manager Appliance Configuration UI to
configure the appliance.

• Collect external network information
• Collect DM5500 serial number, NTP, and time zone information
• Power on the DM5500
• Assign static IP address to the service computer for initial DM5500 login
