Set the passphrase for the DM5500
About this task
You must set the system passphrase for the appliance using SSH. The system passphrase is used to protect secrets, such as
encryption keys.
CAUTION: If you lose the passphrase, you cannot recover it.
To set the passphrase for the appliance, perform the following steps:
Steps
1. Log in to the DM5500 appliance command line.
Using the SSH tool, telnet to the DM5500 Management IP address using the admin username and the DM5500 password.
2. At the command line, type the system passphrase set command to set the passphrase.
Ensure that the passphrase meets the following requirements:
Minimum of nine characters and a maximum of 16 characters
At least one numeric character (0-9)
At least one uppercase character (A-Z)
At least one lowercase character (a-z)
At least one special character from the following list of acceptable characters:
!@#$%^&*()<>?
3. Re-enter the same passphrase. Ensure it matches the passphrase that you entered in the previous step.
