The default is 100.
To view the BGP conguration, use the show config command in CONFIGURATION ROUTER BGP mode or the show running-
config bgp command in EXEC Privilege mode.
A more exible method for manipulating the LOCAL_PREF attribute value is to use a route map.
1 Enter the ROUTE-MAP mode and assign a name to a route map.

route-map map-name [permit | deny] [sequence-number]
2 Change LOCAL_PREF value for routes meeting the criteria of this route map.

set local-preference value
3 Return to CONFIGURATION mode.

4 Enter ROUTER BGP mode.

5 Apply the route map to the neighbor or peer group’s incoming or outgoing routes.

Conguring the local System or a Dierent System to be the
Next Hop for BGP-Learned Routes
You can congure the local router or a dierent router as the next hop for BGP-learned routes.
To change how the NEXT_HOP attribute is used, enter the rst command. To view the BGP conguration, use the show config
command in CONFIGURATION ROUTER BGP mode or the show running-config bgp command in EXEC Privilege mode.
You can also use route maps to change this and other BGP attributes. For example, you can include the second command in a route map to
specify the next hop address.
• Disable next hop processing and congure the router (route reector) as the next hop for a BGP neighbor.
