6 Commissioning
6.1 Function check
Make sure that all final checks have been completed before you start up your measuring point:

Note!
When using PROFIBUS PA, please note the following:
• The PROFIBUS interface's technical data must be maintained in accordance with IEC 61158-2
(MBP) (FISCO model).
• A normal multimeter can be used to check the bus voltage of 9...32 V and the current
consumption of 11 mA at the device.
• Using the LED on the I/O board, it is possible to carry out a simple function check on the fieldbus
communication in the non-hazardous area. I/O board → Page 137 ff.
6.2 Switching on the measuring device
Once the post-connection checks have been successfully completed, it is time to switch on the
supply voltage. The device is now operational.
The measuring device performs a number of power on self-tests. As this procedure progresses the
following sequence of messages appears on the local display:
Normal measuring mode commences as soon as start-up completes.
Various measured value and/or status variables appear on the display (HOME position).

If start-up fails, an error message indicating the cause is displayed.
