6.5 Commissioning the PROFIBUS interface

Note!
• All functions required for commissioning are described in detail in the “Description of Device
Functions” manual which is a separate part of these Operating Instructions.
• A code (factory setting: 83) must be entered to change device functions, numerical values or
factory settings. → Page 46
6.5.1 PROFIBUS DP commissioning
The following steps must be carried out in the sequence specified:
1. Check the hardware write protection:

Note!
• The ”WRITE PROTECTION” parameter indicates whether write access to the device is
possible via PROFIBUS.
• This check is not needed if operating via the local display.
BASIC FUNCTION (G) → PROFIBUS DP (GBA) → CONFIGURATION(610) →
WRITE PROTECT (6102)...
... → OFF (factory setting): write access via PROFIBUS possible
... → ON: write access via PROFIBUS not possible
Deactivate the write protection if necessary → Page 51
2. Enter the tag name (optional):
BASIC FUNCTION (G) → PROFIBUS DP (GBA) →CONFIGURATION(610) → TAG NAME

3. Configure the bus address if not already configured by means of the appropriate miniature
switches: → Page 52

4. Select the system unit:
• By means of the system units group:
MEASURED VARIABLES (A) → SYSTEM UNITS (ACA) → CONFIGURATION (040) →
UNIT MASS FLOW (0400) → UNIT MASS (0401) → UNIT VOL....
• In the SET UNIT TO BUS parameter, run the “SET UNITS” function for the set units to take
effect in the PROFIBUS master.

BUS (6141)

Note!
– Engineering units for the totalizers must be configured separately as described under point 6.
– If the system unit of a measured value is changed by means of the local operation, this
initially does not have any effect on the output of the Analog Input Block and also not on the
measured value that is transmitted to the PROFIBUS master.
The altered system unit of the measured value is not transmitted to the automation system
until the “SET UNIT TO BUS” function is activated in the Block BASIC FUNCTION(G) →
PROFIBUS DP (GBA) → OPERATION (614) → SET UNIT TO BUS (6141).
