6.3.5 Quick Setup “Communication”
To establish cyclic data transfer, various arrangements between the PROFIBUS master and slave are
required which have to be taken into consideration when configuring various functions. These
functions can be configured quickly and easily by means of the “Communication” Quick Setup. The
table explains the parameter configuration options in more detail.

Setup menu calls up all the subsequent functions in succession.
6101 BUS ADDRESS Enter the device address (permitted address range: 1...125)
Factory setting: 126
6140 SELECTION GSD Select the operating mode (GSD file) which should be used for
cyclic communication with the PROFIBUS master.
Options:
MANUFACT. SPEC. → The Promass 83 measuring device is
operated in the manufacturer-specific mode.
MANUFACT V2.0 → The Promass 83 measuring device is used as
the replacement for the previous Promass 63 model (compatibility
mode).
GSD PROFILE → The Promass 83 measuring device is operated in
the Profile mode.
