Signal Words and their Meanings
Throughout this document, attention is drawn to safety issues using the following signal words:
Danger
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or
serious injury. This signal word is limited to the most extreme situations.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
Indicates a situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. It may
also be used to alert against unsafe practices.
Indicates a situation which, if not avoided, may result in equipment or material damage.
Refers to a safety relevant text in the Startup & Safety Manual.
