Installation of the piston
– Install the piston ring/rings “1” by aligning the port with
the pin on the piston “2”;
– After installing the piston ring/rings, check that if it/they
moves smoothly;
Take care not to scratch the piston or damage the
piston ring.
– Install the centering bushings “3”, a new cylinder gasket “1”
and the connecting rod head roller bearing “2”;
Apply the engine oil onto the bearing (crankshaft and
connecting rod) and connecting rod big end washers.
Install the gasket with the seal print side toward the
crankcase.
– Install piston “1” with the arrow “A” pointing towards the
exhaust side;
– Apply engine oil to piston pin “3” and install it on the piston
and connecting rod;
– Install seeger “2”.
Before installing the seeger, cover the crankcase with
a clean cloth to prevent it from falling into it.
Install the seeger so that the ends do not touch the
piston slot “B”.
