4.5 Getting Started Via Ethernet based Port, e.g. use Profinet Viewer
Following the steps outlined below simplify the process of setting up a system for the first time. For more
details see section 18.
Connect the DAD to a suitable power supply.
Connect a Windows PC to the DAD 143.x service port through a RS232 COM port or a suitable USB to
RS232 converter. A terminal program e.g., HyperTerm or DOP4 can be used for verifying or changing
the setup of the DAD 143.x. The default service port settings are: 115200 baud, 8 data bits, No parity
and one stop bit.

Connect one of the DAD Ethernet ports to your network. The way the DAD 143.x obtains its IP address
over the Profinet is DHCP protocol.
A Windows demo program, Profinet Viewer, for testing the Profinet IO functionality can be
downloaded under www.flintec.com

Important:
- Make sure your computer is in the same range of IP-addresses as DAD143.x, the gateway address is
set correctly,
- In some cases, MS Windows may block the communication between DAD143.x and the Viewer over
Ethernet. Then the weight on the display cannot be seen. Install the program npcap
(https://npcap.com/)
For starting with another Ethernet based communication, the procedure is similar.

required communication profile as:
- ProfiNet IO
- EtherNet/IP
- EtherCat
- Modbus TCP.
