If the signal is weak, change the installation locations of the scanner and the wireless access point.
● Move the scanner closer to the wireless access point.
● Move the scanner and the wireless access point away from the following.
- Objects that may block the signal (such as walls and metal boards)
- Devices that may cause signal interference (such as microwaves and cordless phones) and wireless
devices
● Change the direction that the scanner is facing.
Also, communication in certain wireless channels may become unstable due to signal interference such as
noise.
Change the value of the wireless channel on the wireless access point.
● Does a wireless access point support WPS (automatic configuration)?
Solution
When the wireless access point does not support WPS, manually configure the settings for Wi-Fi.
To check whether or not the wireless access point supports WPS, refer to the manual of your wireless
access point.
● Is WEP used as the encryption method for the wireless access point?
Solution
If WEP is used as the encryption method for the wireless access point, change the encryption method, and
then try again.
● Did you enter the correct PIN when configuring the wireless settings for using WPS (PIN)?
Solution
Check the PIN in the following procedure:
1 On the touch screen, press
→ [Scanner Settings] → [Network] → [Wi-Fi] → [Access Point] →
[Use WPS] → [PIN].
2 On your wireless access point, enter the PIN as shown in the [PIN] screen.
To check how to enter the PIN, refer to the manual of your wireless access point.
● Did you finish the WPS operation on time?
Solution
Configure the wireless settings again with the WPS.
● For push-button
1 On the touch screen, press → [Scanner Settings] → [Network] → [Wi-Fi] → [Access Point]
→ [Use WPS] → [Push-Button].
