Chapter 7 Installing Internal Options
4 Install the power supply unit.
Hold the power supply unit with both hands. Insert it straight into the power supply unit slot and
slide the unit slowly.
5 Remove the protective sticker from the inlet.
This step is unnecessary for custom-made power supply units.
6 Plug the power cable of the power supply unit into the inlet.
■ How to Remove the Power Supply Unit
1 Turn off the server and peripheral devices ("1.4.3 Turning Off the Server"
(pg.32)). Unplug the power cable for the optional power supply unit from the
rear of the server.
2 Remove the power cable from the power supply unit in the front.
3 Remove the power supply unit while pressing the green lever.
Hold the handle on the power supply unit and pull the unit towards you. While pulling the unit
out, support it with the other hand.
4 Install a new power supply unit or a dummy unit.
5 Plug the power cable of the power supply unit into the inlet.
