Test patterns are available to aid in evaluating the display visually and quantitatively.

Gray Bars
Confirm that you can clearly see all of the
different gradations of the grayscale in
each gray cell.
Color Bars
Confirm that you can clearly see all of the
different colors in each colored cell.
Resolution
Confirm that this image is clear and crisp,
without jagged edges or lines.
Brightness
Contrast
Before making any adjustments, record the
settings for contrast and brightness. In a
dimly lit room, adjust the monitor to
Brightness 50 & Contrast 40. Increase the
contrast until the left most block in the
second row from the bottom is just
visible.All the remaining blocks in the last 2
rows of the image should now be
visible.Reset the contrast and brightness to
the recorded levels.
