Chapter 8: Cyber Security
Cyber security has become an urgent matter in many industries where advanced
automation and communications networks play a crucial role and where high
reliability is of paramount importance.
Cyber security relies on processes and practices designed to protect networks,
computers, programs and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
Various standards and recommendations apply to substation cyber security and
consist in maintaining the Availability, Integrity and Confidentiality of the substation
data and automation processes.
8.1 Reason H49 Cyber Security Implementation
At the Reason H49 level, the following cyber security measures have been
implemented:
Encryption and Credential
Secured File Transfer
Authorization
Authentication
Password Management
Security Log Management
Other Security Measures
