Chapter 9: Maintenance
Caution:
Before carrying out any work on this product you should study the contents of the
safety and technical data of the GE Grid Solutions Safety Guide SFTY/4L M/H11 (or
later issue) and the ratings on the equipment rating label.
You should also read the Safety Information section of this document before
carrying out work on this product.
9.1 Maintenance period
Deterioration may occur over time. Because of the electrical and heavy-interference
environment, the device should be checked at regular intervals to confirm that it is
operating correctly.
The device is self-supervising and so requires less maintenance than earlier devices.
Most problems will result in a reboot. However, some periodic tests should be carried
out to ensure that they are functioning correctly and that the external wiring is intact.
It is the responsibility of the customer to define the interval between maintenance
periods. If your organization has a Preventative Maintenance Policy, the
recommended product checks should be included in the regular program.
Maintenance periods depend on many factors, such as:
The operating environment
The accessibility of the site
The amount of available manpower
The importance of the installation in the power system
The consequences of failure
