8.5 Updating the System Firmware
Toupdatethesystemrmwareyouneedtohavethefollowingles.
Inaddition,youneedtouseaPCandUSBcable.(ThemewareisabletoupdatefromtheWindowsPC
only.)
Firmware :FCX4000_Vxxx.x
SEND.EXE :UtilitytotransferlesusingWindows
OPS662 :USB Driver software for the FCX4000 (later than version 3.50).
Preparation
(1) CopythermwareleontothePC.
(2) Copy the SEND.EXE onto the PC.
(3) Install the Windows Driver to the PC before connecting the FCX4000 to the PC.
(4) Connect the PC and FCX4000 via the USB port after the Windows driver was installed.
How to update the Firmware
(1) Turn off the power for the FCX4000 if power was turned on.
(2) Set the DIP switch to “Normal mode”.
(3) Turn on the power while pressing the “Right” and “Left” POSITION keys.
The following menu will be displayed.

(4) Transferrmwaredatafromthepersonalcomputer.
Execute SEND.EXE.
Select the folder for the
rmware,thenselectthe
rmwarele.TheFilenamebox
showsthermwarelename.
Select the output device.
Conrmtheactivedeviceof
FCX4000 at the "Device and
Printer" menu in the WINDOWS
before selecting the output device.
Selecttheallles.
SelectthesystemrmwarelefromtheSEND.EXEmenu.
SelectFCX4000fromtheoutputmenu.(Selectthetypeofletoallleswhenselectthermwarele.)
OutputthesystemrmwareletotheFCX4000.
