NOTE:
·Recommended brake fluid: DOT 3
·Brake fluid replacement:
·When disassembling the master cylinder or caliper, replace the brake fluid. Normally check
the brake fluid level and add fluid as required.
·On the inner parts of the master cylinder and caliper, replace the oil seals every two years.
·Replace the brake hoses every four years, or if cracked or damaged.
3.2 CHASSIS
3.2.1 Adjusting the Brake Pedal
1. Check:
·brake pedal free play out of specification
adjust
NOTE
The end of the brake rod should
lightly contact the brake master cylinder.
2. Adjust
·brake pedal free play
a. Loosen the locknut
b. Turn brake rod in or out until the
correct free play is obtained.
Turning in
Free play is increased.
Turning out
Free play is decreased.
c. Tighten the locknut to specification.
Locknut
17 Nm (1.7 m · kg, 12 ft · lb)
Brake pedal free play
0 mm-10 mm (0.4 in)
NOTE
Make sure that there is no brake drag on the front or rear wheels.
