otherwise, the rubber seals may deteriorate,
causing leakage and poor brake performance.
·
Refill with the same type of brake fluid:
mixing fluids may result in a harmful
chemical reaction and lead to poor
performance.
·
Be careful that water does not enter the
master cylinder when refilling. Water will
significantly lower the boiling point of the
fluid and may result in a vapor lock.
3.2.4 Checking Front or Rear Brake Pads
1. Remove:
·front/rear wheels
2. Check:
·brake pads
Wear indicator groove almost disappeared
Replace the brake pads as a set.
Brake pad wear limit
1.5 mm (0.06 in)
3. Operate the brake pedal.
4. Install:
·front/rear wheels
3.2.5 Checking the Brake Hoses and Brake Pipes
1. Remove:
·seat
·console
Refer to “SEATS” in chapter 5
2. Lift the hood up.
3. Lift the cargo bed.
4. Check:
·front brake hoses
·rear brake hoses
Cracks/wear/damage Replace.
Fluid leakage Replace all damaged parts.
NOTE:
Hold the vehicle in an upright position and
apply the brake pedal.
5. Install:
·console
·seat
