When the unit is set to CP mode it will operate as a
constant power load when connected to a constant
voltage source. This means the unit will maintain a
set power level, up to the rated current or voltage
level, regardless of the input voltage. When input
voltage changes, the unit responds by changing the
current load to maintain the set power level
accordingly (P=IxV). This is illustrated below.
When CP+CV mode is enabled, the unit will act as
a constant power load after the input voltage is
greater than the user-defined CV level. At the CV
level, the unit works as a constant voltage load.
This mode effectively creates a voltage ceiling
before the unit operates in CP mode. The diagram
below illustrates this.
